Internet BMW photos - Hina-Matsuri

This is the photo Erika took when I was about to leave her parental home at
the Hina-Matsuri night. I wore Shoei X-8V, Sidi boots, heavy duty winter
gloves and clothes. The screen is replaced with a clear Aeroflow. I'd like
you to pay your attention to the RA and IOC stickers on the back of the
saddlebag.

My old friend Yamaha XJ750E. I took the shot in Mt. Aso (a volcano) when I
traveled around Kyushu in 1984 right after graduation.

A photo of my second Yamaha, '85 FJ1100. My
longest ride was 1000km overnight, when I broke in this machine. I went
over close to Kyoto on an express way and came back on another, leaving
home 22ish and coming back home around 8 next morning. The wrench at the
dealer did not know a word when I asked him to give the machine a 1000km
service the next day he had sent us out.

Here's a photo of the clock on my beloved FJ, which shows the speed of
200km/h. Seems rather quick to be photographing at. The camera was so close
to the clock that the photo is out of focus.

I had this Miata for 2+ years. Right after I got married and moved to
Kashiwa to work at the hospital where I'm working now in '92, we bought it
new. Really we enjoyed open-air driving even in the midst of winter. I
remember breaking in the Miata on the day of its arrival driving 1000km
overnight with my wife. Oh, she was really willing to do it. We went close
to Kyoto on a motorway and then came back on another, as I had broken in my
FJ six years earlier. This 6 year interval was long enough for the BOOFhood
to creep in myself, and I had to have a nap on the way. I'm so glad I
didn't f**t in the "Half-cage".:) Funny that a wrench at my dealer could
not get at what I was telling him when I asked him to give the Miata a
1000km service next day. Although I did love my MX5, it was evident that
the half-cage could not accomodate my dearest daughter. So we farewelled
the Miata and welcomed Mazda 323 Cabriolet, which has a roll bar that makes
a real full-cage, in September, 1994.
